Always a pleasure with Kyoku!

Unlike some other brands, Kyoku's quality is consistent; their Petty Knife is always a sharp delight for prep.

Another great knife

I bought the Gyonin Series Paring Knife last month. It arrived pretty quickly, within four days, which is what I've come to expect from them. This is my third knife from Kyoku, and the quality is always consistent. It's sharp right out of the box, like my Santoku and my Chef Knife were. Good stuff.

Love my new knife!

I just got my Daimyo Series Kiritsuke Knife and I'm so happy with it! It's beautiful and incredibly sharp, made chopping veggies so much easier. I'd been wanting a good kiritsuke for ages. It shipped fast too, got here in five days. I even got a bit of a discount for signing up for their newsletter, which was a pleasant surprise. I'm already eyeing the Samurai Series Utility Knife for my next purchase. Definitely recommending Kyoku Knives to my friends!

Good knife, packaging could improve

I ordered the Shogun Series 8-inch Chef Knife during a sale, and it came exactly when they said it would, about a week later. The knife itself is really good, feels balanced and very sharp. It's definitely an upgrade from my old chef's knife. My only small complaint was the packaging; the box was a bit dented on one corner. The knife was fine inside, but I noticed it. Free shipping on orders over $99 was a nice bonus too, made the overall price feel fair for what I got. I'd consider buying from them again.

Anyone know how long shipping usually takes to, say, Seattle? Need a gift by next week.

R Rachel Carter 2 months ago
Mine got to me in California in about 4-5 days. Seattle is probably similar, they ship pretty quick in the US.

i think it depends on the knife sometimes, but usually under a week for me. they're pretty good about getting orders out.

Hey, thinking about grabbing a chef knife. Does Kyoku do any first-time buyer discounts?

I Ivy Y. 1 month ago
Yeah, I got one when I signed up for their newsletter. It was like 10% off, came right to my email.

They usually have a popup for that on the site if you haven't bought from them before. Mine worked instantly at checkout.

I'm looking at the Shogun chef knife, but also saw some from Dalstrong. How do Kyoku knives stack up against something like Dalstrong or Shun?

A Andre 2 months ago
I have a Kyoku Nakiri and a Shun Santoku. The Kyoku feels just as good, maybe even a bit sharper out of the box. For the price, Kyoku is a strong contender.

Honestly, Kyoku holds its own. My friend has a Dalstrong and I have a Kyoku, and we both agree Kyoku often feels more balanced for everyday use. Plus, I like their handles better.

Are these knives dishwasher safe? Don't want to mess up a nice blade.

B Brett Bennett 2 months ago
Definitely not, man. Hand wash only for good knives, always. The dishwasher will wreck the edge and handle over time.

M Marcus 2 months ago
No, please don't! You'll dull the blade and might even damage the handle. Just a quick hand wash and dry, takes like 30 seconds.
